AdRoll Gives Back is always on the lookout for opportunities to get involved in our community. Which is why we’re so excited about Circle the Schools, an initiative that pairs tech companies with underserved public schools across San Francisco to introduce students to opportunities in tech and build a relationship between SF schools and the local tech community.

AdRoll Gives Back

Through Circle the Schools, AdRoll has partnered with June Jordan high school (JJHS). June Jordan is a perfect fit for us: they’re a social justice–oriented school that lives by their values of respect, integrity, courage, and humility—very similar to our own values of wisdom, transparency, loyalty, fun, and industriousness. We look forward to building a long-term relationship with the students, teachers, administrators, and parents of JJHS, and, through those relationships, to providing resources where the school has the greatest need.

Earlier this year, June Jordan students came to visit us at our SF HQ to kick off our new partnership. The day started off with a group breakfast, followed by a speaker series where JJHS students had a chance to learn about different AdRoll departments and how they function together.

The day culminated with a group discussion about social justice and what it means to each of us. The social justice talking circle dialogue was so inspiring, not only because of what the students said and shared with us, but because of how they participated in an open, personal discussion with a group they’d just met.

Over the next year, we’ve already put plans in motion for more events to connect Rollers and JJHS students:

  • Advisory board support for the JJHS tech design plan
  • AdRoll panelists in the JJHS College and Career Symposium in March
  • Volunteer partnership event for Rollers and students at the SF Food Bank in April
  • AdRoll community representatives at JJHS student portfolio presentations
  • Roller participation in JJHS Intersession
  • Roller support of graduates at the JJHS Graduation Dinner
  • IT equipment donations of six Macs
  • Roller assistance with design and marketing of the JJHS fundraising initiative for their Tech Plan
  • Mentoring program paired with advisory classes and internship opportunities at AdRoll

We are off to a strong start with this partnership and hope to have a huge impact in the lives of the JJHS community.
