“Bonding with shoppers: How Mobile is mastering promotions & sales”  – Mobile is the fastest growing marketing channel for our clients at AdRoll, but there’s still so much more to learn. Jag Bath, SVP of Product at RetailMeNot, and Michael Aki, Director of Digital Marketing at Aeropostale, will be sharing insights on consumers’ mobile behavior that we should all be taking notes on. I’ll definitely be interested in seeing their findings on how mobile initiatives can be enhanced by promotional campaigns.

“Game on:  Omnichannel and Personalization – Bridging the gap between the store and online experience” – Online versus offline is one of my favorite hot topics these days.  For so many retailers, connecting the dots from digital marketing to in-store interactions and vice versa is the key missing piece of the puzzle.  GameStop’s Senior Director of Multichannel, Richard Amour, should have a really interesting POV on the importance of in-store interactions to online behavior.

“Crack the code of digital attribution for a smart marketing spend” – We’re all data geeks at AdRoll, and nothing gets our team more fired up than the attribution debate. 91% of marketers recognize the importance of attribution, but only 45% say they consistently track attribution across campaigns and analyze the results, and 37% of marketers aren’t tracking audiences by device type. I can’t wait to hear Ali Wing, Maurices CMO, give her take.

Top 10 List for Chicago in the Summer

I don’t know about you, but we’re looking forward to more than just workshops and schmoozing.  Not sure what to do with your pre- and post- conference hours?  Here’s our ‘Top Ten’ list for Chicago in the Summer:

  1. Portillo’s: You just can’t leave the city without having the famous Chicago style dog and the chocolate cake shake!
  2. Pazookies: Chicago style deep dish, in a cookie!
  3. The Bean: You can’t go to Chicago without a trip to Millennium Park. How else will you snap the obligatory ‘Bean Pic’?
  4. Deep Dish Pizza: There’s a big debate between Lou Malnati’s and Gino’s East.  My vote is for the former – why not try both and pick a side?
  5. The Girl and the Goat: Want some Top Chef eats while you’re in town?  Stephanie Izard does not disappoint.  (Can’t get a res?  Try Little Goat Diner next door.)
  6. Navy Pier: Keep your fingers crossed for some warm Summer weather this week.  Anyone up for a ride on the ferris wheel?
  7. Shedd Aquarium: Two words:  Beluga whales!  This is not your average aquarium.  If you have a free day in the city, it’s a must-see!
  8. Goose Island Brewery: Chicago has some amazing micro breweries, and GI is a true gem.  No time for a tour? No problem.  You can find all their varieties at the local bars; 312 and Matilda are my personal favorites.
  9. The Bongo Room: Ever wanted to be blown away by a stack of pancakes?  Look no further – there’s 3 locations around the city and luckily one is right around the corner from McCormick Place!
  10. Wrigley Field:  Wrigley is one of the most beloved stadiums in the country.  If you get to Chicago a few days early there’s a 1:15 home game on Sunday against the Royals.
